John Torri stuns with his latest release on Sub Label Recordings - the Metropolis EP.

Starting with the title track 'Metropolis'. This is machine-like. Simply, deep and dark. In essence, a dancefloor epic. With a strong bassline and drums which roll through you. All the while, syncopated snares and stabs of sound scatter around. Without question, the music is compelling and devoid of repetition. It moves in fluid transitions from one movement to the next. This is a futuristic statement. Overall, high fidelity science fiction. As a result, this is brilliant.

Next is 'Unknown Object'. This commences with a thundering 4/4 drum beat. Which is overlaid with glitchy percussion. Including a bassline which is raw and violent. With classic techno snares dancing with industrial synths. Surely, this isn't percussive expression performed by robots? The dance ritual of a mechanised tribe? Detroit via Bergamo.

Finally, we have 'Astral Shift'. This is atmospheric and progressive. With it's 5am warehouse vibes. At the same time, the pounding kick drum, clicks, synths, and snares. Echo and reverb. This is a monster in the dark.
