Anna Lipsne makes her official debut on Sub-Label Recordings, Black Label with her ep Fried Japanese Tea.

With its bleepy opening, you may think Ostara will be a straight-up Detroit techno track. As it progresses, you'll soon realise this is anything but. A teaser of an acid line opens things out, propelling us into a twisted, other-worldly exploration of sound, with minimalist percussion melding warmly with the bleeps and blips to create an ethereal techno track of the highest caliber.

Soul Scream is an eerie voyage into the depths of my psyche aided by the shrill and yet enchanting tones of a self-played flute. Set against a swirling backdrop of deep rolling bass line and industrial FX, it explores the dichotomy of a troubled yet loving soul.

Technofy is an enticing slice of techno prowess that merges an ever-evolving and ever-present bass line with undulating blasts of aural exploration.
It builds into a swirling maelstrom that will move even the most stubborn dance floor into a writhing, sweaty apex.

Fried Japanese Tea is enriched with oriental vibes, when twinkling melodics are held hostage by warped soundscapes and a thumping kick drum. From its soft, almost child-like opening, we're thrust into the murky world of warehouse techno at its finest. Grabbing us by the scruff of the neck and dragging us into the sweatiest corner to gyrate and warp our bodies in time with the music.

Dry Socket. We've all been there, and the pain of a dentist visit may not seem like the ideal starting point for a musical adventure. Angst-ridden spoken word of the experience is backed by a killer kick and bass combo that pounds harder than any dentist drill. They may not have her painkillers, but this delivers a shot of pure adrenaline that will crush anything in its path.

Shadow takes a softer sojourn into Anna's musical stylings, still full of bite and gravitas, it slowly ebbs and flows through deep, embracing melodies and pad work to deliver an ideal bridge between the dark and delirious and the sunlight peeking through the window. Delicate percussion and an acid-tinged but delicate bass line carry us safely back to reality as the track culminates with a dizzying yet placating effect.
