Jack Bacon returns to Sub-Label Recordings - Black, with his “I’ll Miss This” EP. This is a three track release covering the deep and experimental techno sub genres that inspire his productions.

Opening with Perdita, a gentle build into the solid and infectious groove that forms the base for this progressive track. The bass develops with it’s warm tone and playful movement. The higher complimenting synths are the familiar tones that we have come to love from Jack’s productions. This track roars into its second drop and here it stands as a modern minimal dance floor filler.

Next on the EP, we have Obscure. A fantastic development of sound design and rhythmic elements to build a suspense and mood that is continued through this Techno beauty. As the track progresses, more musical elements try to break through but the overriding mood and energy keep powering through. The track progressively develops and opens out to release more of the musical elements in to the mix as we pass the halfway point of the release.

Finally we have the title track, I’ll Miss This. Again, opening with moody, sparse percussion dripping in beautiful delayed reverbs. This really shows the intentions of this producer and we were blown away with the development of this track. Such a beautifully carved sonic space with handfuls of interesting sounds to keep the listener intrigued. The vocals sample in this track treads the line between haunting and longing for, which is totally appropriate, given the title of the track.

I’ll Miss This by Jack Bacon is a true representation of the label’s interest in experimental music elements crossed into more familiar genres.
